Why remove AI metadata?

AI tools often write a record of how a file was made into the file itself. That record travels with the image or video wherever you post or send it.

Metadata cleaning does not remove invisible pixel watermarks such as SynthID, and it does not replace any disclosure a platform requires.

What AI metadata can an image or video contain?

AI tools can embed C2PA Content Credentials (a signed record of the tool and edit history), the prompt and negative prompt, model and seed settings, and an IPTC label that marks the file as AI-generated.

Do ChatGPT and DALL-E images contain metadata?

Yes. Images exported from ChatGPT and other OpenAI tools usually carry a C2PA Content Credentials manifest. The inspector shows it, and cleaning removes the manifest from PNG, JPG, and WebP copies.

Do Stable Diffusion or ComfyUI images include my prompt?

Often, yes. Automatic1111, Forge, ComfyUI, and InvokeAI write the prompt, settings, or the full workflow into PNG text chunks. Anyone who opens the file can read them unless they are removed.

Does this remove AI watermarks?

No. It removes embedded metadata only. Invisible watermarks such as SynthID live in the pixels, so they stay in the image.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Inspection and cleaning run in your browser, and the files stay on your device.
